THE CHALLENGE
THE GOAL WAS TO INCREASE LIGHT LEVELS BY 50% WHILE REDUCING ENERGY CONSUMPTION, TO ENSURE A MORE WELL-LIT WORK AREA FOR STAFF.
The main lighting in the plant area consisted of 4-lamp T5, 6-lamp T8, and 8-lamp T5 fixtures mounted at heights from 25ft to 60ft. In addition, the facility contained more than 750 existing high bay fixtures in a uniform layout but was lacking in light output to the shop floor. The goal was to increase their lighting levels by 50%, while reducing their energy consumption, ensuring a more well-lit work area.

THE SOLUTION
Magna reviewed a number of different LED fixtures in the market but ultimately chose RENO's Zenith Linear High Bays. After a sample install of 10 fixtures was completed, it showed how well these fixtures could deliver superior light levels compared to the existing fluorescent fixtures in place. In addition, their facility managers opted to have a microwave dimming sensor installed onto the linear highbays to lower light levels in low-traffic areas within the plant.
